Since the year 1967, SERVPRO Industries, Inc., has been redefining the mitigation and restoration industries. In addition to training at the regional level, SERVPRO developed the National Training Center in 1992 to teach restoration and mitigation skills to Franchise Owners and insurance industry employees.

Employee Certification Training

The Employee Certification Training is a self paced program which is designed for the franchise employee. The certification is awarded after the successful completion of course materials as well as an examination. Newly implemented training consists of the HeroReady Training Program which separates training for Production Technicians and Crew Chiefs. SERVPRO allows for continuing education in the mitigation and restoration industry by continually reworking their training in order to benefit the technicians and the clients best.

e-Learning

A web based program designed to be an ongoing self-paced training program. Video presentations and support materials are followed by a knowledge test at the end of each module.

Thursday October 21st 2021 SERVPRO Upper Bucks was the Lunch Sponsor for the Eastern PA Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Clay Shoot. ABC provides many benefits to their members to aid them in navigating the construction field. Most recently they have been aiding their members during the Coronavirus pandemic in human resources, and finance and legal departments. ABC also benefits their members by offering a local and national referral system, project lead lists specific to Eastern Pennsylvania and various safety training. The clay shoot offers a fun time to network with fellow builders and contractors and create lasting connections.

SERVPRO Upper Bucks was happy to assist to build these connections through the clay shoot by providing lunch to the members. Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays in Coplay, PA was able to loan us their kitchen and serving area and ABC’s organizers assisted us in serving the member’s lunch. All in all it was a great team effort and a fun day out that benefited as a great networking experience for all.

Imagine yourself waking up, coming down the stairs to make your morning brew. You’re yawning, not paying particular attention to your surroundings until, “Splash!”

You’re suddenly ankle deep in a large puddle of water.

But is it just a puddle?

No, you’re awake now and you realize this “puddle” is covering the entire first floor of your home. Where did this all come from? What do you do? Who do you call? The Fire Department? The Police?

You have so many questions with exceptionally little time. Once water has entered your home, extraction becomes an essential, time-sensitive matter.

SERVPRO of Upper Bucks strictly abides to meeting or exceeding the “1,4,8” rule. Within one hour of receiving a new loss, the client will be contacted by one of our compliance staff to schedule a time for our crew chief to come scope the affected areas. Within four hours of scheduling, our highly-trained crew will arrive on-site to begin work. After eight hours, all current job information will be processed, uploaded and relayed to client.

It is with the, “1, 4, 8” rule that SERVPRO of Upper Bucks effectively performs time-management skills. The nature of our business is to help clients get through some of the toughest times they may face. Many of them have just lost their personal belongings or content, or a piece of their being that is otherwise irreplaceable. Because of these reasons, we do everything we can to act promptly and begin the restoration process in order to return a sense of normalcy to our client’s lives as quickly as possible.

A Day at SERVPRO of Upper Bucks

Well...let's find out! A video touring our facility is posted in our video section as well! Here at our office, we are like a little community. The beauty of working for a company such as SERVPRO, we get the small office environment.

We have our technicians and crew chiefs, who are out doing what we do best--RESTORATION!! They come in every morning and prepare for the day, and then they're out working on jobs! They are essential to our company, but this is not to say our office staff is not important. We all work together to make a great business! We are like a machine, all parts are important and essential to success.

Now, we have our office staff, and they work just as hard to help make our business a success! Watch the video to see what our office staff is doing! 

Hey, maybe in the next post, you'll get to meet an office member! You'll also get to meet a crew member...I know the anticipation is probably driving you nuts! Not to worry, that will come soon. This is simply the beginning of many introductions.

As I mentioned the crew comes in every morning where they'll learn where they will work for the day. From there, they're off! Upcoming posts will provide insight on what typically happens on a water job or a fire job.

Selling Your Home? Let Us Clean It!

You should consider reducing the potential for moisture buildup or mold growth prior to selling your house. This means that within the first 24 to 48 hours of a damage event, you should have a timely response ready to execute to prevent further damage to your home or property.

You should:

- Correct any water leaks or standing water. 

- Remove standing water under cooling coils or under air handling units.

- Properly maintain humidifiers, if used.

- Replace wet or visibly moldy insulation materials.

- Steam cleaning and other methods involving moisture should not be used on any kind of duct work. 

- Install a ventilation system.

Not only will taking these steps seriously help your home sell faster, but they could even help you pass more inspections!
