Are You Prepared?

3/7/2019 (Permalink)

When is the last time you scheduled a pipe to burst in your home or office? How often would you like your property damaged due to faulty wiring? Although the answer to these questions is “never”, accidents happen and these instances aren’t ever planned.

SERVPRO recognizes the need for a quick, timely and proper restoration effort in order to sanitize the property and to have the tenants back like the loss never even happened. Preparing for the unexpected will give you an edge if disaster strikes, which is why you should consider developing an Emergency Ready Profile (ERP). Your ERP could be a part of your Contingency Plan, which will contain information you need in the event of an emergency situation.

With over 45 years of experience in the cleanup and restoration industry, SERVPRO knows how to mitigate damages while limiting frustrations along the way. Creating an ERP for your home or facility will lessen stress and help you put an emphasis on getting back into the building as fast as possible; your local SERVPRO Franchise Professional can help you create an ERP that best suits your expectations.

Through detailed communication, the SERVPRO Franchise Professional will walk through all of your options in order for you to choose an ERP that allows you to stay informed and in control. Set up an appointment with your local SERVPRO to begin preparing for a possible disaster before it happens!

Emergency Ready Profiles

6/5/2018 (Permalink)

Can we determine when disaster strikes?

Unfortunately, we can never really know when a disaster will strike. Anything could happen at any moment, so as a business, it is essential to prepare for an emergency.

Why should you prepare for an emergency?

There are a few reasons:

1.Safety! Being prepared means keeping everyone involved safe during an emergency.

2. To minimize damage done to the building. If you understand where the water shut off is for instance, then you can turn off the water during a pipe burst, therefore stopping the source.

3. Save money!! Less damage=less expensive.

SERVPRO® provides an Emergency Ready Profile to help you prepare for disaster.

This FREE Emergency Ready Profile (ERP) is designed to organize all of the critical information necessary during a disaster. For example, locations of shut offs for utilities and Emergency Contact information.

Oh, and it is FREE

Time Management

Time Management

Imagine yourself waking up, coming down the stairs to make your morning brew. You’re yawning, not paying particular attention to your surroundings until, “Splash!”

You’re suddenly ankle deep in a large puddle of water.

But is it just a puddle?

No, you’re awake now and you realize this “puddle” is covering the entire first floor of your home. Where did this all come from? What do you do? Who do you call? The Fire Department? The Police?

You have so many questions with exceptionally little time. Once water has entered your home, extraction becomes an essential, time-sensitive matter.

 1, 4, 8...

SERVPRO of Upper Bucks strictly abides to meeting or exceeding the “1,4,8” rule. Within one hour of receiving a new loss, the client will be contacted by one of our compliance staff to schedule a time for our crew chief to come scope the affected areas. Within four hours of scheduling, our highly-trained crew will arrive on-site to begin work. After eight hours, all current job information will be processed, uploaded and relayed to client.

It is with the, “1, 4, 8” rule that SERVPRO of Upper Bucks effectively performs time-management skills. The nature of our business is to help clients get through some of the toughest times they may face. Many of them have just lost their personal belongings or content, or a piece of their being that is otherwise irreplaceable. Because of these reasons, we do everything we can to act promptly and begin the restoration process in order to return a sense of normalcy to our client’s lives as quickly as possible.

Back To School and Emergency Ready Plans

SERVPRO'S Emergency Ready Plan

With schools across the United States being back in session, one important thought that should come to mind is safety. Does your student, professor or building administration know what to do in case of an emergency?

Imagine you are sitting behind a desk at school in the middle of another mundane lesson when suddenly the emergency alarm begins blaring over the PA system. Everyone in the room goes into a slight panic knowing this alarm signifies some sort of trouble and there was no talk of a scheduled fire-drill. Chaos breaks as there is no leadership or plan in place to deal with an emergency. Valuable time is being lost every second it takes to regain control. Everyone is scared and communication with the outside world is limited. What do you do? How do you survive the potential disaster attacking your building? Who do you call?

Questions like these as well as many others need to be answered well before any kind of an emergency or natural disaster strikes. That is why an Emergency Ready Plan should be in place and be easily accessible to the right personnel. It’s important to understand that an emergency situation can occur at any given time, can be man-made or natural and can severely impact the continuity of business or living arrangements.

SERVPRO’s free Emergency Ready Plan, ERP for short, provides a home, school or business with a detailed report of the building, vital contact information as well as a secure, well-thought out plan of action in case of an emergency. Safety of life is the primary concern in any Emergency Ready Plan.

While disasters of any type cannot be completely avoided, knowing what to do during an unexpected situation can rescue your home, school, or business and return it to normal operations as soon as possible.
